Tragic Loss: 8-Year-Old Boy Swept Away by Ocean Waves Near Half Moon Bay

(KRON) — An 8-year-old boy was swept into the ocean close to Half Moon Bay whereas huge waves pounded the shoreline on Sunday afternoon, officers stated.

A Cal Hearth battalion chief stated the boy was swept in at Cowell Ranch State Seashore and an grownup tried to avoid wasting him. When state park lifeguards arrived at 3:13 p.m. Sunday, they discovered the 39-year-old man and the younger boy nonetheless within the water, parks officers stated.

Each victims had been pulled onto a harbor patrol boat by lifeguards, they usually had been rushed to Stanford Medical Heart. The boy and man had been later pronounced deceased, state parks officers stated Monday.

“Despite life-saving efforts, the individuals passed away. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family for this devastating loss,” California State Parks spokesperson Jorge Moreno wrote.
