(KRON) — The Oakland Police Division mentioned officers recovered ‘harmful weapons’ in two separate gun-involved incidents on the finish of January.

Oakland police mentioned officers in its Ceasefire unit arrested a suspect on Jan. 30 who was wished in connection to a gun-involved assault. Police mentioned they found “body armor, firearms, ammunition and multiple firearm accessories” throughout a search executed on the suspect’s residence. Investigators confirmed a person with an impressive theft warrant was additionally arrested on the residence.

In an unrelated incident on Jan. 27, OPD ceasefire officers noticed an individual waving a gun on the sidewalk within the 10300 block of Worldwide Boulevard. Police mentioned the particular person was taken into custody together with two extra armed people. Officers mentioned they seized a gun with a 100-round journal and two different weapons that every had a 30-round journal.

In a submit from OPD’s Fb web page that introduced the arrests, Oakland police mentioned it’s “committed to proactive policing to improve public safety.”
