Automobile closely broken in DUI collision leads Santa Rosa police on transient chase

(KRON) — The Santa Rosa Police Division (SRPD) stated a 43-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly fled the scene of a DUI collision and led officers on a quick pursuit.

DUI DJ was going 90 mph on Freeway 101: SF DA

Santa Rosa PD stated officers responded at 9:10 p.m. Thursday to a report of a collision involving a blue Saturn and a white panel van on the intersection of Hahman and Magowan drives.

When officers arrived, they discovered from witnesses that the motive force of the blue Saturn had fled the scene.

Officers stated an SRPD accident investigator noticed the automobile driving away, however the driver did not yield to the visitors cease. Santa Rosa PD stated a police chase ensued however was short-lived as a result of “major damage sustained to the Saturn during the original collision,” leaving it largely inoperable.

The motive force, recognized as John Patrick Thorpe of Santa Rosa, surrendered to police and was arrested. He faces fees, together with driving drunk and reckless evading.

Police stated Thorpe suffered minor accidents, however nobody else was damage within the incident. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
