Former Senator Barbara Boxer: ‘We’ve come to anticipate dysfunction’ from Congress

(INSIDE CALIFORNIA POLITICS) — Inside California Politics spoke with former Senator Barbara Boxer on various matters surrounding present the political transition together with the reelection of Rep. Mike Johnson to Speaker of the Home and what’s subsequent for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Boxer stated the slim margin by which Johnson was reelected to management portends a troublesome legislative session for Republican objectives.

“I think this fight that Mike Johnson had to do just to get the votes for Speaker with [President Elect Donald] Trump with him and [Elon] Musk and all those power brokers with him could turn out to be one of his easier votes,” Boxer stated. “Because what they have in mind is so awful for the American people, its going to reverberate and its going to be hard for him to get things done.”

Boxer instructed that members of her celebration ought to attain throughout the aisle with the concept the elections signaled that the American individuals had been on the lookout for bipartisanship.

“It was a very close race in terms of the president-elect didn’t even have a majority…,” Boxer stated. “Let me tell you, as a Democrat, what I would do. Put your hand out and you say ‘Hold my hand if you want to walk down the aisle for the American people.'”

The previous Senator stated that if Harris needs to pursue public workplace, she may look to return residence.

“I could assume, if she wanted a really good shot at winning governor might be a good place to go because she has run a couple times for president,” Boxer stated. “But I don’t know what’s in her heart whether she’s not that interested in California anymore or she is.”
