(BCN) — BART reported a serious delay in downtown San Francisco Saturday night time after firefighters mentioned they have been summoned to a fatality on the tracks.

Firefighters mentioned they have been referred to as about 8:45 p.m. to what BART described as a serious medical emergency between the Civic Middle and Powell Avenue stations.

The delay affected the San Francisco line within the SFO, Millbrae and East Bay instructions, BART mentioned on social media. BART had posted an alert at 8:57 p.m. on X, advising commuters of the medical emergency.

“A person was on the tracks for an unknown reason when a train approached and a collision appears to have occurred,” BART spokesman Chris Filippi mentioned in a recorded assertion. “The person has been killed.”

Crimson Line service was quickly cancelled due to the incident.

BART’s Yellow Line continued to run to all San Francisco stations from Antioch to SFO/Millbrae, Filippi mentioned.

Blue Line trains have been operating from Dublin/Pleasanton to West Oakland, he mentioned.
