Main SFO meals vendor cuts a whole lot of jobs, cites 'lack of buyer account'

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A serious meals vendor at San Francisco Worldwide Airport is slicing a whole lot of jobs, based on a state submitting Wednesday. Gate Gourmand, a catering firm that operates on the airport, is shedding 835 individuals, citing “the recent loss of a customer account.”

Thursday is final day to drive alongside SF’s Nice Freeway

The loss, based on a letter accompanying the submitting, will “greatly impact” the caterer’s operations, resulting in the “necessity of a workforce reduction” and “relocation of the worksite.” The layoffs, that are everlasting, will happen on Could 13.

The layoff, state filings point out, primarily impression meals preparers, dish room attendants, and gear set-up personnel. A lot of these impacted by the layoffs are represented by the Worldwide Brotherhood of Teamsters and Unite Right here Native 2 unions.
