Man is not going to be charged for lethal capturing on Orinda street: DA

(KRON) — A person who shot and killed one other man on an Orinda street in September is not going to be charged, the Contra Costa County District Legal professional’s Workplace stated. The DA painted a narrative of self-defense in a press launch put out Wednesday.

The capturing occurred on Sept. 12 in a residential space of Orinda — Las Vegas Street and La Espiral. Police arrived to discover a man who suffered a gunshot to the neck.

The DA’s workplace stated a Toyota 4Runner being pushed by 50-year-old Scott Decker was shifting slowly on St. Stephens Drive when one other driver handed it. Decker responded by pulling in entrance of the opposite driver and blocking his path.

Decker received out of his automotive and punched the motive force within the face thrice. The motive force responded by taking out a handgun and firing a single shot, per the DA’s workplace.

“After a thorough review of the evidence and the circumstances of the assault on the driver, theDistrict Attorney’s Office concluded that no charges will be filed in this case,” the DA’s workplace stated.

The shooter was a registered gun proprietor with a hid carry allow. He offered dashcam video of the capturing to legislation enforcement.

Decker was a resident of Orinda and Truckee. He died on the scene.
