(KRON) — A person is dealing with assault and narcotics costs after Novato police responded to a report of home violence Saturday morning.

Novato Police Division officers had been dispatched to a residence on Brown Drive after a caller stated that her roommate was being assaulted, authorities stated. The officers discovered the sufferer was locked inside a second-floor bed room with the suspect and tried to forcibly open the door.

The suspect, recognized as Parrish Dejoun Marquise Wallick, 33, of Vallejo, jumped from the window into the yard as officers tried to make entry, in accordance with police. One officer who was positioned in the back of the home tased and arrested Wallick after authorities stated Wallick didn’t adjust to instructions to cease.

An investigation decided that the reported altercation was not “domestic” for the reason that suspect and sufferer had been acquaintances, and it was about cash, Novato PD stated. Wallick allegedly started to strangle the sufferer when she stated she was calling the police.

Throughout Wallick’s arrest, officers situated fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription tablets, a scale and money in his possession, authorities stated.

Wallick was booked into the Marin County Jail for assault with a lethal weapon, unlawful narcotics for gross sales, transport of managed substances, possession for gross sales of managed substances, resisting arrest, and two excellent warrants.
