SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A group is enraged and is demanding San Francisco save what locals are calling a pillar of their group: the Fillmore Safeway retailer. On Tuesday, group members held a march at Metropolis Corridor, asking for leaders to step up.
The times are counting down for this Safeway within the Fillmore. The grocery retailer, in accordance with the group right here, serves as a staple and its departure is devastating to them.
“We want you to know that the Fillmore is upset, and we demand justice, said resident Erris Edgerly. “We been via 50 years and doubtless extra of injustice within the Fillmore. We wish justice right here.”
On Tuesday, a group rally was held demanding a name to motion from native leaders to deal with the pending closure.
“We want everyone to know that we’re looking at replacing Safeway with another grocery store,” stated Daniel Landry of Fillmore United Alliance. “We’re not necessarily focused on keeping Safeway here.
