San Jose teen killed in Walnut Creek crash Sunday

(BCN) — An early morning crash Sunday in Walnut Creek killed a 15-year-old passenger from San Jose and resulted within the driver’s arrest. Walnut Creek police stated the single-vehicle crash occurred at 2:25 a.m. on westbound Newell Avenue.

A car with 4 passengers, that police stated might have been coming from Mount Diablo, crashed into one of many assist pillars on Newell Avenue beneath the Interstate 680 overpass.The 15-year-old, who was driving within the entrance proper seat, was killed immediately.

Police arrested the juvenile driver on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Police are nonetheless investigating whether or not alcohol was concerned.

The passengers fled on foot after the crash and a relative picked them up and took them to a San Jose hospital, which known as police. The opposite two passengers weren’t arrested.
