Shocking Discovery: Unlawful Flavored Tobacco and Shrooms Found in Livermore Retailer Inspections!

(BCN) — Livermore police seized unlawful flavored tobacco and different unlawful merchandise from two companies within the metropolis final week, together with psilocybin mushrooms from one.

On Jan. 17, police did compliance checks at six native companies to make sure they have been following California’s state legislation prohibiting the sale of flavored tobacco merchandise.

The state bans the retail sale of most flavored tobacco merchandise and tobacco product taste enhancers, imposing fines of $50 per prohibited product.

Officers discovered two companies that weren’t compliant. At one, officers seized varied unlawful merchandise, together with psilocybin mushrooms, typically known as “shrooms.” The proprietor might resist $68,000 in fines.

At one other enterprise, a plainclothes officer purchased flavored tobacco. Following an inspection, police seized all flavored tobacco merchandise within the retailer. That proprietor might resist $7,500 in fines.

Final month, Livermore police did comparable compliance checks, throughout which in addition they seized unlawful merchandise.

These enforcement actions are supported by an $82,000 three-year tobacco enforcement grant from the California Division of Justice.
