(KRON) – A suspected robber jumped in Lake Merritt to evade officers, in line with the Oakland Police Division. 

Round 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Oakland PD was dispatched to the 600 block of Bellevue Avenue for the report of a theft with a lethal weapon. Responding officers realized {that a} sufferer was threatened by a suspect who brandished a bladed object at them. 

Police stated the suspect then fled on foot. Oakland cops later discovered the suspect in Lake Merritt. OPD stated officers commanded the suspect to go away the lake a number of occasions, however the suspect didn’t comply.
