Suspects strike officers, drive incorrect means in East Bay chase

(KRON) — Two suspects had been arrested for allegedly main cops on a chase by means of the East Bay on Sunday evening, a put up on the Metropolis of Oakley’s Fb stated. A male driver is accused of hanging officers together with his automobile and driving the incorrect means on a Brentwood avenue.

After 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oakley Cops had been informed of a theft at a Brentwood Walgreens. The suspect automobile fled, and the officers noticed a automobile that matched the outline parked at a 7-Eleven at 2001 Laurel Street in Oakley with two folks tending to the trunk.

The officers turned on their lights and walked in the direction of the automobile. The suspects received into the automobile and abruptly reversed, authorities stated.

The automobile’s open passenger door struck one officer within the chest, and the opposite officer was hit by the again of the automobile, the Metropolis of Oakley stated. Neither officer suffered main accidents.

The suspect automobile drove the incorrect means on Laurel Street in the direction of the Freeway 4 bypass. The officers chased after it and finally noticed it on Freeway 4 driving west in the direction of the A Avenue exit.

The suspect continued his tried escape, taking the L Avenue off-ramp and turning onto Lemon Tree Manner in Antioch. The motive force finally received out of the automobile, and the passenger stopped it.

The passenger was arrested. Police chased the driving force on foot till he fell. Fearing he had a weapon, officers struck the suspect earlier than arresting him, the Metropolis of Oakley stated.

The suspects had been recognized as Essence Thompson, 33, of Sacramento and Antioch, and Terrance Coleman, 40, of Brentwood.

Coleman drove the automobile as officers chased it. Police want to cost him with two counts of assault with a lethal weapon in opposition to a peace officers, evading on the incorrect facet of the highway, and evading with willful and wanton disregard for others.
