(KRON) — 5 folks have been arrested in reference to residential burglaries in Santa Rosa, the Santa Rosa Police Division stated Tuesday.

The theft group primarily focused the properties of Asian enterprise homeowners, police stated. There have been related burglaries in a number of jurisdictions.

SRPD was tipped off to the group by the Union Metropolis Police Division in December. SRPD knew of a minimum of 11 burglaries prior to now 14 months focusing on Asian victims.

One other housebreaking focusing on an Asian individual from Santa Rosa occurred on Dec. 18. A witness gave police the automotive’s license plate quantity, and SRPD tracked it to Vallejo.

Police carried out surveillance on three autos related to the burglaries, presumed suspects and an Airbnb believed to have been rented by the themes.

The subsequent day, police noticed 4 folks loading their automobiles with luggage suspected to be crammed with stolen items. SRPD detained the suspects after they tried to run away. A fifth suspect was taken into custody after attempting to run from the home.

SRPD served search warrants on the related properties and automobiles and found “equipment and tools indicative of a very sophisticated burglary ring,” police stated. Objects recovered embody camouflaged cameras, greater than 15 cell telephones, supply driver disguises, yard upkeep clothes and tools, and night time imaginative and prescient goggles.

Detectives seized gadgets together with money, jewellery and designer purses. Police consider the suspects are Colombian nationals who transfer round totally different cities focusing on Asian enterprise homeowners. SRPD stated it had proof that the suspects had burglarized a house in San Rafael.

The suspects have been tentatively recognized as Martin Hernandez, 29, Carlos Alberto Ousset-Orozco, 34, Julio Gomez-Herrera, 26, Carlos Andres Lopez-Diaz, 23, and Miguel Romero-Morales, 37. They have been booked into jail for expenses together with housebreaking, conspiracy and possession of stolen property.

Detectives are working to find out if they’re related to different related burglaries.
