(KRON) — Santa Clara police stated a tire theft suspect carrying a loaded gun journal tried to make a quick getaway from officers however was quickly taken into custody.

San Rafael police seek for driver of deadly hit-and-run

Santa Clara PD stated a watchful neighbor reached out to police at 12:09 a.m. Monday to report a housebreaking suspect stealing tires off work vans within the 1600 block of Russell Avenue.

Police stated when officers arrived, they positioned the suspect throwing gadgets over a fence into bushes. Officers stated a canvas of the realm recovered a handgun.

Santa Clara police confirmed a search of the suspect’s car turned up a holster, one other loaded journal and methamphetamine.
